Sometimes running can seem like such a selfish thing to do, I think. Also it's not uncommon for a person doing an ultra event (ironman, ultra marathon, etc) to have to change things up to keep the stomach happy. I get an "Error on Page"... :(&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;This is a comment on your 'weighting' post. Sorry I had to post it here.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;GREAT post. I, too, have struggled with my weight. Just a couple years ago I was over 200 lbs... on a 24 year old female, that is not cool. I've had a lot of ups and downs, but I think I can finally call myself healthy. I have my indulgences, but I keep myself in check. That said, I packed up about 5 lbs during the last couple months of marathon training and taper. You can mix them to your desired strength and I've heard some IM athletes put 700-800 cals in a bike bottle (I could only handle 500-600). As they do, you will likely be limited as to how many calories your body can absorb per hour while running, however, so it will be important for you to get as much as you can during lesser intense activities (biking for IM athletes, or resting for you) before running. Don't forget to also analyze your electrolyte needs.
